Founder and chairman, William Brown, continues to be a guiding force while his sons, Steve and David, hold key positions as CEO and COO respectively. Many of the values that the Brown family holds dear, such as respect, commitment and hard work, are behind A.L.P.’s guiding principles.
Chairman
Company founder, Bill Brown has been supplying the lighting marketplace with components for more than 55 years. From company beginnings to this day, the A.L.P. team has relied heavily on Bill’s extensive sales experience and manufacturing expertise. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the IESNA and a committee member of the Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage.
Chief Executive Officer
Trained as an accountant, Steve Brown spent the majority of his early career with A.L.P. focusing on sales and marketing in different regions of the United States. As CEO, Steve plays a critical role in the company’s new product development and channels his considerable energy and enthusiasm to customer service and company growth. He has served as a board member of the IESNA in Chicago and Los Angeles.
Chief Operating Officer
David Brown began his career with A.L.P. Lighting Components in 1978, holding a variety of international positions before assuming the operational helm. Educated as a lawyer, David’s attention to detail brings a unique perspective to the organization. David’s focus on improving processes and operations in turn improves service to A.L.P. customers. He has served as President of the Energy Efficient Lighting Association.
Vice President And Business Manager, A.L.P.’S LexaLite Brand
Tom Barnes is a Certified Lighting Professional and has four patents related to plastics in lighting. He spent his entire career with LexaLite®, holding positions in sales, sales management, operations and strategic development. In his current role with A.L.P., he is responsible for defining and promoting the plastic optical product line – a business unit that includes LexaLite® product lines and high-performance optical sheets – ensuring profitability through management of product development, production, pricing and related functions.
Vice President, Customer Fulfillment
Steve has more than 25 years of manufacturing-related experience, and since joining A.L.P. in 1995 has held progressively responsible management positions in the areas of warehousing, operations and logistics. Steve has been appointed Vice President, Customer Fulfillment. In this role, he manages the entire order processing experience, including customer service, inventory, warehousing and logistics.
Chief Financial Officer
Jim Grady has more than 25 years of finance and operations experience with expertise in all aspects of financial systems, planning, reporting and analysis. An entire career in the manufacturing sector – including tenures with aluminum and plastics extruders – has made Jim adept at the analysis and decision-making required to maximize the profitability of a complex, multi-plant operation. He is responsible for the company’s finance, accounting, information technology, and human resources departments.
President of Bill Brown Sales
Donny Wall manages the revenue and field performance of the Bill Brown Sales team. He has worked in lighting his entire career, including holding key positions at Cooper Lighting. In the past, he has managed crucial account relationships for Bill Brown Sales in the Southeast. Donny’s market expertise and leadership skills are an asset to the sales team and OEM customers.
